Jacques Villeneuve - An F1 Legend

Like many of the drivers of the 80’s and 90’s, Jacques Villeneuve was an F1 racer before he switched over to formula 1 racing in 1990. He switched from being a Michelin driver to a Williams driver, Villeneuve winning the World Championships with both the Jacques Porsche 917 and the Ferrari 360. brake meshing was a common problem from the Williams and as a result Villeneuve switched over to the Ferrari.

He went on to set not only one, but two world records. The driver who holds the record for most consecutive podium finishes (181) is also the first to achieve it at least five times. Jacques Villeneuve also holds the record for most pole positions (65) in a single season. He drove for Ferrari for the last 24 races of the 1992 season where he won seven Grands Prix, see his first and only Formula 1 victory in Belgium. สล็อตเว็บตรง

His career as a Ferrari driver spanned roughly 5 years and he started at the beginning of 1990. He won his first race with the squad in just the fourth race Jacques of the season in Japan. His first victory on a grand prix came in Canada, with the Ferrari Driving Championship in his hands. The 917 looked good for the outfit, but not good enough. Ferrari had to settle for 3rd.

It was not until the next season that Ferrari got back on track, thanks to Villeneuve’s persistence and the end of the year he joined. He quickly won in the Jacques Chamonix,Montreal and in America. It seemed that the car was tailor made for Villeneuve, who proceeded to pole position twice that year. Ferrari took the factory pride back with him and he went on to win 6 races in 1993. สล็อตเว็บตรงไม่ผ่านเอเย่นต์

By now, Villeneuve had moved to the Williams team, with immediate effect following his confirmation. It has been suggested that the change had to do with the manner in which he drove for the Williams team. He was viewed as being too brash, rash and loud. This perception changed once Villeneuve had his first Formula 1 victory in Barcelona, France. What proved to be the deciding factor was the Williams car, with David Brabham, Pedro Rodriguez and Ayrton Senna all winning races for the squad. Villeneuve’s brashness had not finished off his drive however, as he went on to take 6 more wins for the team. สล็อตเเว็บตรงเเตกง่าย

In 1994, Villeneuve was driving for the mighty McLaren team, but by this point he had begun tumbling down the constructors’ championship table. Villeneuve’s championship bid, along with those of Jenson Button,Jacques  David Coulthard and Montellyn Bujot, all fell short of the team’s expectations. The McLaren-Mercedes relationship looked volatile and many had thought that Villeneuve would end his years as a McLaren driver before the season ended.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Jacques Villeneuve’s debut in Formula One racing. He will forever be remembered as a brash and aggressive driver who was undoubtedly one of the greatest drivers of all time. Many believe that Villeneuve may have surpassed Senna as the best driver of his era. สล็อตเว็บตรง

Villeneuve went on to make the some gaps behind Michael Schumacher but this was always likely to be a short sighted view of the Frenchman and he was often accused as being a player with style, who largely under showed his capabilities and he is often considered along the lines of Steve Moore. It is a shame that a great career could not be lived up to to anticipate that the results were not as impressive as the driver had shown. สล็อตเว็บตรง
